G-Eazy Drops A New Song With Blackbear

G-Eazy spoke with Entertainment Tonight’s Katie Krause about his upcoming album, working with Ashley Benson, who he calls an “incredible talent and a special one,” he also discussed heartbreak.

“Hate The Way” features Blackbear and is the lead single off of G-Eazy’s upcoming album. The video is dark and seems to have an autobiographical tone.

Eazy and Blackbear talk about their process of dealing with things that happen in their lives and how they later share it with the world. “I like to go through the wreckage then discuss and process it with my therapist and family, then pull from it for songs later,” says Blackbear. “I don’t like sharing it with the world as it’s going on in my life.”

When asked how he feels when people assume that the video for “Hate The Way” is about G-Eazy’s past relationship, such as his relationship with Halsey, Eazy says all creatives have a right to write music from the heart and what “conclusions people draw and how they perceive your work is out of your control.”
