Kanye West and Donald Trump’s law firm were among the 700,000 well-to-do companies that got coveted PPP loans. Kanye’s production and clothing company got between $2 and $5 million and saved over 160 jobs.
As a whole, the PPP loans gave out $521.4 billion to taxpayers and small business owners and kept over 51 million people working. The industries recieving loans included retail, construction, arts, and finance.
Lawmakers also benefited from the PPP loans, Fox News host Tucker Carlson, got up to $1 million for news website The Daily Caller, Nancy Pelosi’s EDI Associates got a loan of between $350,000 and $1 million. Her husband, Paul is an investor in the firm to the tune of $250,000 to $500,000.
The president’s lawyer, Marc Kasowitz, received a loan although the official amount has yet to be disclosed. The president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner had associates who all benefited from the loans, Kushner holding company Princeton Forestall LLC, got a loan of $1 million to $2 million. An additional firm with Kushner ties, Livingston LLC, got $350,000 to $1 million.
