Lord of the Rings Star Has Passed Away
Actor Ian Holm known for his role as Bilbo Baggins in Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit died Friday morning.

According to his agent, he died after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He won a Tony Award in 1967 for his role as Lenny in The Homecoming.
His first major role was in 1979 in Alien.

In 1981 he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor for playing coach in Chariots of Fire.
