Rihanna filmed the video for ‘We Found Love’ in Northern Ireland almost a decade ago.
Alan Graham, a former DUP councilor, revoked Rihanna’s permission to film in his Bangor field over her clothes. He reportedly termed her red bikini “inappropriate undress.”
He admitted he didn’t know who Rihanna was when he was asked to use his 100-year-old farm. Despite this, ‘We Found Love’ won a Grammy for ‘Best Short-Form Music Video’ and became one of Rihanna’s biggest hits.
The tree has seen the best of its days. Graham and his wife planted a cherry tree beside it in honor of their 50th wedding anniversary.
