Soccer Legend Diego Maradona Has Passed Away
Confirmed today by ESPN Argentina, It’s understood that Maradona died after having suffered a cardiac arrest at his home in Tigre, Argentina.

He had undergone a successful operation for a blood clot on his brain earlier this month.
Diego Maradona has died at the age of 60, his longtime lawyer and agent has confirmed.

Born to a poor family in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Maradona went on to become one of the greatest football players of all time, having led clubs to championships in Argentina, Italy and Spain AND representing his home country in four World Cups.

A statement from the Argentina Football Association read: “The Argentine Football Association, through its President Claudio Tapia, expresses its deepest pain at the death of our legend, Diego Armando Maradona. You’ll always be in our hearts.”
Retired Brazilian soccer star Pele mourned the death of Maradona in a brief statement provided to Reuters by a representative.
“Certainly, one day we’ll kick a ball together in the sky above,” he said.
